Gatefold Magnolia Card
by Anne Thompson

I've been revisiting different card forms recently and decided to make a gatefold card for this post.  I started with a purchased pre-scored card but it's quite easy to cut and score a card yourself with many tutorials available online.  I  used the new magnolia papers and rub-ons to decorate the blank card.  Here's the front of the finished card:

to make this card

  • start with a blank white gatefold card base
  • add the two front panels using one of the plaid papers from MAGNOLIA PLAID PP1021, each cut 2 1/8 X 5 1/2
  • cut a piece of white card stock 3 X 4 to make a panel and attach it to the left flap of the gatefold card being careful to add adhesive to only the part that will touch that flap
  • add a piece of the same plaid cut 2 3/4 X 3 3/4 on top of that white card stock panel
  • on another piece of white card stock add the flowering magnolia branch rub-on from the MAGNOLIA RUB-ON TRANSFERS RUB 101; trim that to 2 1/2 X 3 1/2; and add it to the panel to finish the front of the card

inside

  • cut a piece of flowered paper from MAGNOLIA GROVE PP1022 to 4 X 5 1/4 and add it to the center of the opened card
  • cut a piece of white card stock 3 1/2 X 4 3/4, add one of the single magnolia blossom rub-ons in the lower right corner, and add that panel to the center of the opened card

  • write your message, close the right flap and then the left

What other card forms would you like to see?  I'll see what I can come up with for my next post later this week.

Happy Crafting!
