Watering…Weeds???
by Anne Thompson

As I was watering my garden last evening, I marveled at all the green plants. At this point I’m having a hard time sorting the weeds from potential flowers! So today’s card is an ode to watering the weeds in the hopes that some might actually become flowering plants.

I used papers from FUCHSIA PLAID PP1029, LAGOON, SP1010, and GREENERY SP1011. I used the WILD LEAVES 94947 die and the greenery dies from WOVEN FLOWER BASKET 94941 and ARCHED FLOWER BASKET to make the garden planted on one of the CINCHED FRAMES 94944. I love the addition of the RUSTIC WATERING CAN 94903 which forced me to use an A7 note card (5X7) in order to fit everything on the card front.

To make this card I added a piece of plaid paper from the Fuchsia Plaid pad cut 6X4 and anchored it in the lower right corner of the card front. I then die cut the Cinched Frame from one of the Lagoon papers. I added that to a scrap of white card stock (4 3/4 X 3 1/4) and then attached that panel also in the lower right corner. I die cut the Rustic Watering Can from a scrap of watercolor paper and painted it with a copper paint in my set of Kuretake watercolors. While that dried, I die cut all of the various greenery pieces from three different greens in the Greenery card stock pad. I glued those stems onto the blue Cinched Frame to make the garden. I used foam dimensional dots to add the watering can at a tilted angle and then added a few drops of blue watercolor paint spilling from the watering can.

I know this card will take a bit of extra postage, so my friend Connie would encourage me to send it to someone “card-worthy”. It would be a great card to send for a birthday or thank you or thinking of you to a gardening friend with maybe a packet of seeds enclosed or a gift card to a local gardening center.
