Just a Note with the Hello Butterfly Stamps
by Anne Thompson

Today's card is a quick and easy one that could be used for almost any occasion.

materials used

  • white A2 note card and envelope
  • BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004
  • ANEMONE PLAID PP1025
  • "Just a note" and the butterfly from HELLO BUTTERFLY CLEAR STAMP SET CL5289
  • VersaFine Nocturne (black) Ink
  • detail scissors (or use the  die from the stamp/die set HELLO BUTTERFLY CL5289D)

to make this card

  • Cover the front of a side-fold A2 note card with the black glossy paper.
  • Cut one of the lighter plaid papers from Anemone Plaid 5 1/4 X 4.
  • Stamp "Just a note" all over the plaid paper using the VersaFine Nocturne ink–I used the lines in the plaid to help align the words on the diagonal.
  • Add the stamped panel to the front of the note card.
  • Stamp the large butterfly on another coordinating plaid paper using the VersaFine Nocturne ink.
  • Fussy cut (or die cut) the butterfly.  I added a layer of the black glossy paper under the butterfly and fussy cut around that.
  • Add the butterfly to the front of the note card using dimensional foam dots.

I like using sentiment stamps to create backgrounds for focal images on cards–and for creating coordinated wrapping paper.  Plaids help me keep things straight and looking better than if I were working without lines.  So many different ways to adapt this design idea for any occasion!!!

Happy Crafting!
