Happy Fall Greetings
by Jean Okimoto

It’s only November, but it feels like winter – Wyatt Bird is ready for December! His plaid hat and muffler will keep him warm as falling leaves swirl across yards, driveways and sidewalks. The Spiral Delight 3D Embossing Folder creates swirly texture and dimension for DIY trees.

Cut the 2 smallest Poppystamps Basic Ovals from a bright yellow/orange Sunrise Solid Core Cardstock. Spritz them with a light mist of water and place them in the Open Studio Spiral Delight 3D Embossing Folder. Pressure-emboss them using the plate(s) required for your machine. We’re using the reverse-side of the embossed ovals here.

Place the embossed ovals on a hard flat surface and ink them with VersaFine Clair. Colors used here are Summertime, Tulip Red and a very light application of Verdant. Apply the inks by sweeping the colors lightly over the raised design – don’t press and pounce, we’re just highlighting the spiral texture. Lightly ink the edges with Summertime.

Cut two of the Gathered Tree Trunks fron dark brown cardstock. Assemble the “trees.”

Cut Wyatt Bird from two shades of kraft cardstock. Cut the feet and face base from a light orange Sunrise 6×6. Color the eye areas with a black marker. Cut the hat and muffler from the green/orange/white Nutmeg Plaid 6×6.

Glue two pieces of cream cardstock together for dimension and diecut them with the 3.6″ wide Nested Globes die. Attach it to a cream A6 card (45″ x 6.25″). Attach the “trees” and Wyatt Bird – use foam tape for Wyatt. Add 1/4″ dots punched from the green Festive Glitter Pad 6×6. Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Cut cream cardstock with the 1.5″ wide Nested Globes die. Stamp the greeting and maple leaf – from the Pumpkin Kisses Clear Stamp and Die Set – with Summertime VersaFine Clair. Cut the plaid 6×6 with the Nested Globes die and attach the diecuts inside the card.

Thanks for visiting our blog – see you again on Friday!
