Brighten a winter – or early spring – birthday celebration with the fresh Flower Basket Bouquet from the Spring Blooms collection. This versatile new die set includes 9 dies to cut 29 designs perfect for mixing, matching and layering. I don’t usually attach a design directly to a card front – but the intricate details, shapes and textures of these diecuts don’t need a layered background here. Just glue and go!
Cut the basket, trim and handle from a light green Greenery 6×6. Spritz the basket with a light mist of water and pressure-emboss it using the texture die, rubber mat and plate(s) required for your machine. Or diecut it with the texture die for more details. Shorten the handle and attach it behind the basket – the completed basket + handle will be about 3-1/2″ tall.
Prep the flower and leaf/stem dies by rubbing them briskly with scrunched waxed paper to make it easy to remove the detailed pieces. Cut multiples of the flowers and greenery from several shades of the Blush and Greenery 6×6 Solid Core Cardstock Packs. Assemble the flowers – add stems to the large top flower and the 4 smaller flowers. Attach them to a white top-folded A2 card.
Add 3 extra flowers as accents. Attach a Happy Birthday Foil Greeting Black Circle Tab – use foam tape along the bottom and right side. Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
The basket is perfect for hearts, Easter eggs, fall leaves, evergreens and pinecones too. Add the tulips and a bunny (or two!) for your Easter card. Bling it with glittered, pearlescent or metallic cardstock for a very special occasion.
