Greetings friends. Today I am sharing a card that is meaningful to me. It is in honor of Midnight the wonderful black lab.
When I saw this Memory Box basket, I wondered how it would look with flowers I had dried from the backyard. I am pretty sure they are buttercups, but I am not 100% sure. The die itself comes with tons of flowers and leaves, but I wanted to make this card with my flowers. They grow all over the backyard, and Midnight loved to lay in them. Here is a picture:

This is him as an old man. I wish I had a better picture where you could see his eyes more, but this at least gives you an idea of how he looked out in the sun and the flowers.
The yellow flowers are covering the yard at the moment, so I cut a bunch and put them into a flower press to dry. I found a really cheap press during one of Aldi’s special finds weeks. Does anyone else get sucked in to that aisle? It took about two weeks for the flowers to dry. If you don’t have a press, place your flowers between two pieces of printer paper and then place under a stack of books. The printer paper is to help dry out the flowers.
Here is a close up of the dried flowers in my die cut basket:

To make the card, I first ran my blue cardstock through my die cut machine using the Pinpoint Flower plate to give it texture. I then cut it out with the Cinched Frames.
For the basket, I cut it out using kraft cardstock and then edged it with some Vintage Photo Distress ink.
To adhere the flowers, I added a dot of white glue to the center of each. I don’t know if this was a bad idea because I don’t know if it will re-hydrate that part of the flower. I used as little glue as possible.
Thanks for stopping by today and letting me talk about Midnight. Are there certain flowers you would want to use in the basket?
