Gelli Plate Background
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Today I want to share a background with you I made using a gelli plate and some of the new Memory Box dies.

First, I started with my gelli plate and added a bit of acrylic paint to the top:

I had too much paint on my plate. You really only need a thin layer of paint.

I brayered the colors on top of the plate and then placed some die cut leaves on top:

I gently pressed the leaves onto the plate with the back of a paintbrush and then gently removed them using some tweezers. I was left with some blank spots in the pain shaped like leaves:

You can use any paper you want to pick up the paint that remains. Lightweight paper works the best. I decided to use the black piece at the top of this photo. It is a gelli print I did that didn’t turn out as I hoped. I took the black paper and pressed it onto my gelli plate to pick up the paint. This what the finished background looked like:

The black paint shows though all the leaf spaces I had created.

To finish my card, I die cu the background and then added my sentiment and butterfly:

Thanks for stopping by today!
