I’ve been thinking about this card for a long time, but it all came together after I registered for the most recent Online Card Class and saw a wonderful card using similar products created by Laura Bassen.
After die cutting a 3 1/2” X 5” panel of light blue cardstock, with the Raindrop Plate, I layered it onto a matte silver panel. I love the subtle shimmer of the raindrops. I chose the Circle Basics die that is the same size as the umbrella, die cut it in the center of the raindrop panel and backed it with a piece of clear acetate.

Next, I added a piece of darker blue paper to the white card base and made a pile of clear sequins and beads for the shaker. I carefully added the raindrop panel to the card base with thick dimensional tape.
The umbrella was die cut using one piece of the large umbrella in the Umbrella Trio dies. I die cut it three times: twice with yellow cardstock and once from a piece of red/orange paper. I snipped apart the red/orange and one of the yellow umbrellas and pieced them on top of the remaining yellow umbrella. I die cut two of the umbrella handles from matte silver cardstock, glued them together for stability and added the umbrella on a slight angle to the top of the shaker window.
The sentiment, from the Sunshine and Wildflowers stamp set, was stamped in black on a thin strip of white cardstock and added with dimensional tape below the shaker window.

It’s fun to have a shaker card in the stash to cheer someone when life is tough.
