Greetings bootiful friends! Are you a Halloween stamper? I sure am! I love the new Pumpkin Kisses clear set because it has the common Halloween greetings such as “Happy Halloween” and “Tick or Treat,” but it also has sentiments such as “You are boo-tiful” and “Spooktacular Wishes.” I plan to use the latter for an October birthday card.
For today’s card, I wanted to use up some of my paper scraps to make a background for my little ghost. I used yellow/orange papers from the Sunrise paper pack along with some gray and black cardstock on had on hand. I cut the strips in random widths rather than one width for all the strips.
Before gluing my strips to cardstock, I took a piece of light gray cardstock and distressed the edges with Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone distress inks. I then glued the strips to the cardstock at an angle and added some bats using black Versafine ink.
I then stamped my sentiment over the strips using the same black ink. I was worried that the sentiment wouldn’t stamp well over the strips, but I was pleased with the result:
To finish the card, I cut out my ghost using white cardstock and added some pink Copic marker cheeks. I stamped the pumpkin onto white cardstock with black Memento ink and then colored it with Copic markers. I then fussy cut out the pumpkin and glued it to my ghost. As a final step, I popped the ghost up on the card using foam tape.
