Autumn Magic
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends, and happy Saturday. Today I am sharing a card that is a cross between a fall card and a Halloween card.

To make the card, I started with white cardstock and then put a circle mask on top of the card. I then sponged my card with the following Distress Inks- Antique Linen, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. Before I removed the mask, I spritzed the background lightly with water to blend the colors and then splattered the whole piece with watered down white acrylic ink. This is what the card looked like before I removed the mask:

When I looked at the card, I decided I liked the background a lot with the circle mask still on it. I hadn’t planned on that. It looked exactly like the moon I wanted. It was stuck on the card pretty well, so I just left it on the card. It was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

To color my bird, I sponged the bird pieces with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs distress ink. I wanted the scarf and hat to look like a Halloween scarf, so I colored it with green and purple Copic markers (V04, V17 and YG13).

To finish the card, I added a strip of grey paper to the bottom with my chosen sentiment. I edged the grey paper with Hickory Smoke ink and edged my tree trunk with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Of course, I had to add a few bats to my moon. It isn’t a fall night card without them!

Have a fantastic weekend
