Tulip Stems and Stencils

Hi everyone.  I hope you have been enjoying all of the new dies and stencils.  I know I was particularly excited about the stencils and all of the background possibilities.

For my card today, I started with some watercolor paper from Ranger and then taped the Rhapsody stencil on top of it.  I then sponged it with some Tumbled Glass Distress ink and spritzed it with some London Blue Dylusions Spray.  I liked the look, but I decided I wanted it to look more "watercolored," so I spayed it with extra water to blend all the colors.

Next, I added the new Tulip Stems dies to the card (98782).  When you run the Tulip Stems die through a a die cutting machine, it will cut out the shape of the flowers.  You then have to run it through the die cutting machine a second time with a rubber mat to get the flower petals to emboss.  After I embossed the petals, I wanted them to stand out a bit more, so I edged the petals with a Mustard Seed Distress Marker.
