Birthday Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends!1

I'm sharing a special birthday card today–it's sure to please the lavender fans that you may know—you may even be one!  This card is very "clean & simple" so I added a bit more to the inside.

Leaving room to write a personal message inside, I added some detail along the edge.

I used the Twisty Stalk die on the front of the card as well as the inside.  On the front, I trimmed off the left and right stems leaving a straight stalk for the center of the Brea Ornament.  Inside, the three stems are left intact, which helps balance the design of the Tessatina Border.  The Twinkle Bell Flowers are just one of the flower heads you could use with the Twisty Stalk, but they're my favorite–especially in lavender.

Just a few tips about "Clean & Simple" cards:

*  Always cut accurately and use the very best quality papers—quality paper makes "simple" look elegant.

*  Make sure to clean up any stray adhesive on your card—"glue-shine" detracts from the "clean" look.

*  Ink-up and stamp sentiments carefully for a crisp and straight outcome–practice on scrap paper first.

Clean & Simple is not necessarily "quick and easy", but it is a lot of fun.

Happy Friday Everyone, thanks for stopping by!

  1. Very pretty. I love how you lined up the dies on the front and then included more of them inside. Well done.

  2. So with you on CAS being QAS- it isn’t by any stretch. This card is beautiful and well worth the time it took to die cut everything.
