Large Winter Sled Door Decor
by Anne Thompson

What do you put on your front door for the holidays?  How about a vintage child's sled decorated with greenery and a pretty bow?!

I made the door from a rectangle of textured dark brown cardstock mounted flat on a kraft notecard and added kraft panels with some Walnut Stain Distress Ink smudges on them and line impressions near the edges of each panel made with a stylus.  For the doorknob I punched a small circle from some metallic gold cardstock.  The vintage child's sled is the  LARGE WINTER SLED die no. 99283 cut from kraft cardstock and smudged up with a variety of wood-tone Distress Inks.  I punched two tiny holes in the sled's steering bar and tied on fine twine for the rope.

I made the greenery swag using two shades of green cardstock cut with the BLISSFUL BUNDLE die no. 99235, using only the left "half" of each piece.  I tucked in two sets of the separate branches from that die set and added a petite white-dotted red bow.

One more Christmas card to add to those I'll send this year!  I can either place a small stamped sentiment on the front or a stamped or die-cut message inside the card.  Even with some dimensional foam tape popping the sled up off the door a bit, this is still a pretty flat card that should travel well through the mail.

Happy Crafting!

  1. Thanks for your comment. I was trying for something simple that I might be able to make several of at one sitting. I think I might actually do something like this for my front door on the house this year!
