Hello everyone!
Since this weekend is the unofficial start of the summer season, I thought I would create a fun summer themed card for you today.
To create this card I used blue alcohol inks on glossy cardstock to make a background for the whale to hang out on. I stamped the whale and waves on watercolor cardstock and colored the images using distress inks. The colors of distress ink I used were: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Pumice Stone and Worn Lipstick.

To assemble the card I cut out the whale and the waves. I cut around the whale fin and tucked the waves under it. Glue these to the alcohol background layer and adhere it to a licorice cardstock layer. Using foam adhesive I glued this to a white card base. Stamp the greeting on the bottom right corner of the card and you’re done.
Pretty easy right?
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!

I love your card design, especially tucking the waves under the whale’s fin! I am just getting into alcohol inks and thank you for an idea of how to use such a background. Well done!
I like how the whale is positioned on this beauty -tfs
what a fun way to say hi to someone and love that background, I only recently invested in some distress inks so am still learning to use them but love how effective they are on your background.
A great way to start the summer Donna!
Oh, that whale is too cute! Love the punny sentiment!
