Home for the Holidays
Donna Sledzik

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to day 5 of our blog blitz!  I hope you are enjoying all the wonderful posts from the design team.

Today I have a Christmas card that features a few of the new dies.

To make this card I used one of the one of the rectangles from the Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die set, and die cut this from watercolor paper.  I used Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink to create the background.  I die cut Home for the Holidays, but cut a portion of the die off to read “Home for the Holidays”.  Once it was cut, I embossed the words with Gold embossing powder and saved the cut-off snowflakes to glue on later.

Next, I die cut the Snowy Cabin and Stitched Snowbanks from white cardstock. I trimed a thin horizon line under the cabin and glued this to the bottom of the card front. The trees I inked with Peeled Paint distress ink, cut them off the snow hill and glued them onto the horizon line.  Using a glue pen, I added glitter to the horizon line and the cabin roof.  Next, I glued the embossed words in place and added the snowflakes.

To finish the card, I glued the card front to a green cardstock layer. I glued this to a card base and add some bling to the center of the snowflakes. Lastly, I used a white pen to add some snow dots to the background.
