3-D Embossed Chrysanthemum Field Slimline Card by Jean Okimoto

Creating a colorful card is easy with our 3-D Embossing Folders – here’s the Chrysanthemum Field on a simple fall card.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an easy way to add color and texture to any project.  It’s also a nice way to use that stash of watercolored paper – like I did for today’s card. Brighter colors are great for this process.

Trim watercolored cardstock (or watercolor paper) to fit into the Chrysanthemum Field folder.  Spray it with a light mist of water to soften the paper a bit, then pressure-emboss it using the plates recommended by the manufacturer.  Trim it with the 3-¾” x 2-½” Rectangle Basics die.

Place it on a smooth, hard surface and scruff it with sandpaper or a sanding block to remove the color of the raised patterns.  Use short, upward strokes.  Remove the residue with a tissue.

Cut the delicate white frame with the medium-sized Stylish Rectangle Trio die.

Stamp the greeting – from the new Berry Wreath Clear Stamps and Dies Set – with coral ink.  I used Impress’ Melon Fresh Ink.

Cut a ¾” strip of the pink glitter paper from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pack.

Attach everything to a white slimline card – I trimmed mine to 3-⅝” x 8-¾”.

Cut gold metallic accent dots from the new 6×6 Polished Foil Pad.  The Poppystamps Big Dot Border die is perfect for this!

Add color to your projects with simple techniques like these.  Use your stash of watercolored papers – or create a bunch of them while hunkering-down at home.  Pressure-emboss them with a 3-D folder and make the design the central point of your card.
