Pine Wreath
by Trina Pham

Hello everyone.  I was celebrating World Card Making Day when I made this card yesterday.  Did you get a chance to celebrate?  My favorite cardmaking season is here, especially with the latest Holiday release from Memory Box!  One of my favorites from last year’s release was the Pinecone Stackers dies, so I was really excited to see there are more pine cone sizes this year.  I used the smallest size pine cone from Smooth Pine Cone with the Pine Needle Trio dies to create a wreath for my card.

This was rather straight forward since the dies did all the work. 😂   The pine cones were die cut from brown Earth Neutral paper then white gouache paint was added to the bottom of each layer with a sponge dauber before assembling.  The pine needles were die cut from Lush Green paper then Rustic Wilderness distress ink was applied with a detail blender along the spine for some shading.  The berries were die cut from the new Festive glitter paper using the new Holly Bundle die.  Took two circle dies from Circles Basics next and die cut a circle frame from the same green paper as the pine needles and created the wreath on it.

The sentiment from the new Yuletide Moments stamp set was white heat embossed on black cardstock, then die cut out with the same smaller circle die used to in creating the frame.  Kraft woodgrain paper was then cut to A2 size (4.25”x5.5”) then scored vertically every 1”.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

I wasn’t sure with the glitter berries and all, but I think this could pass for a masculine card. 🤔   Anyway, that is it for today.  Thank you for joining me.  Have a wonderful week.

  1. Such a clever idea to score the woodgrain paper to make paneling! Love this pine bough wreath with the snowy pinecones!
