Watercolor 2-Ways

Greetings friends. Today I made two watercolor backgrounds that I used for die-cutting and I thought I would share both of them with you.

For the first background, I used Colorburst watercolor powders and watercolor paper. This is what the background looked like before I cut it:

To make the background, I sprinkled blue and green watercolor powders onto a non-stick craft sheet and then spritzed the powders with water. I placed my watercolor paper on top of the wet powders and smooshed it into the puddles of color. I set the paper aside to dry. Once it was dry, I sprayed the paper lightly with water to get little droplets on the paper. I like the splotchy look you get by doing that. I then cut out the leafy frame using this paper. I like all the variegation of color you get from this background.

For the flowers, I did a second watercolor technique. This is what the finished paper looked like:

For this background, I took watercolor paper, wet it with water and then randomly colored it with red, orange and yellow watercolor paint. While the paper was still wet, I placed a piece of bubble wrap on top of the paint. I let the whole thing dry and then removed the bubble wrap. Next, I cut out all my little flowers.

To finish the card, I cut out the background for the sentiment from the same green background and added the yellow letter layer on top. For the flowers, I popped up the center (yellowish) flower up with some foam tape and added orange rhinestones to the centers of all the flowers.
