Butterflies are flitting everywhere on today’s card where I used the Butterfly Coterie Collage Stencil 88617 for the background butterflies and the Butterfly Coterie Collage die butterflies on top of the stenciled ones to create a card suitable for any occasion.
materials used
- white notecard and envelope
- white cardstock
- coral plaid papers from MADRAS PLAID CORAL AND GREEN PP1013
- BUTTERFLY COTERIE COLLAGE STENCIL 88617
- BUTTERFLY COTERIE COLLAGE die 94642
- VersaFine Clair Tulip Red ink; fingertip dauber
- clear FAIRY DROPS DRP101
to make this card
- start with a piece of white cardstock and attach the Butterfly Coterie Collage Stencil on top with washi tape
- use fingertip dauber to add VersaFine Clair Tulip Red ink over the stencil
- trim the stenciled panel 3 1/4 X 4 1/2
- die cut the Butterfly Coterie Collage die using one of the coral plaid papers
- add the die cut butterflies on top of the stenciled ones (I used glue dots on the bottom wing portions so I could bend the upper wing part up a bit)
- using the dauber add more smudgy ink around the edges of the panel and then use the ink directly from the pad around the outer edge
- add clear Fairy Drops to the centers of the wings
- cut a piece of another coral plaid paper 4 X 5 1/4 and add it to the front of the notecard
- attach the butterfly panel to the front of the notecard
This card is appropriate for any number of occasions, so I will wait to add an appropriate sentiment when I know where and when it is going out. I’m also going to try this design with in other color combinations and with floral background papers. So many possibilities!
