Send greetings of joy with the Layered Hummingbird and Aurora Snowflake. No glitter today – just a lot of texture and soft, shimmery luster. Hi, Jean here with a simple design for the holidays.
The new Brilliant Joy die set really is brilliant! Diecutting with both dies lets you create 3 versatile greetings – solid, outline and individual letters. Cut them from contrasting colors, matte, metallic, textured or glittered cardstock. I’ve pressure-embossed the solid background diecut with the detailed die to create a bold greeting that’s easy to apply.
Cut red cardstock with the solid Brilliant Joy die. Spritz both sides with a light mist of water and pressure-emboss it using the rubber embossing mat and plates required for your machine. It’s ready to apply!
Cut the detailed Aurora Snowflake from the pearly-white Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad 6×6. Tape the flower-shaped center portion before removing the diecut from the die. Let the detailed center create an elegant inlaid look.
Cut Layered Hummingbird from light kraft cardstock. Color the beak with a pale orange marker. Color the area for the eye with a black marker. Ink the remaining pieces with Pearlescent Rust and Pearlescent Chocolate Brilliance inks. Assemble the bird – I’ve repositioned the wings for an in-flight look.
Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to turquioise wool-blend felt. The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it. Cut it with the Vertical Line Collage. Attach two pieces for a wooly scarf. ⅛” double-stick tape works perfectly with the strips.
Cut dark gray cardstock with the 3″ wide Nested Globes die. Attach the diecuts to a white A6 card (4.5″ x 6.25″) – use foam dots for the hummingbird. Add turquoise Christmas Fairy Dewdrops. Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
This design includes some timesaving techniques…Christmas arrives in less than 2 weeks! Layered Hummingbird is cut completely from kraft cardstock and colored with markers and brushed or sponged with blendable fast-drying Brilliance inks. JOY is embossed to add texture and dimension. Aurora Snowflake’s center remains intact for easy assembly. Vertical Line Collage strips are easy to apply with ⅛” doublestick tape.
