A Buzzing Bumblebees Experiment with the Little Fuchsia Flower Trio and Branch
by Anne Thompson

For today's card I wanted to use the BUZZING BUMBLEBEES 94794 and I wanted them to have clear wings.  Hence this experiment:

materials used

to make this card

  • I started with my bumblebee experiment.  I die cut the bees twice from white card stock and once from the clear acetate packaging material–had to run it through the die cutting machine several times with an extra layer of card stock on top of the die.
  • I colored the white whole body /wing black and snipped off the wing–I could have skipped the coloring if I had cut this set of bees from black card stock.
  • I colored the topper body with yellow and black stripes and adhered that on top of the black one.
  • I then used a glue dot to attach the double-layered body to the clear acetate one.
  • Voila!  Clear Wings!

  • Next I die cut the Little Fuchsia Flower Trio and Branch from one of the green plaids and one of the pink plaids.
  • I used a glue pen to assemble the flowers.

  • To assemble the card I added another plaid trimmed 4 X 5 1/4 to the front of a top-fold note card.
  • I used a glue pen to attach the branch near the center of the card.
  • I then placed the three flowers along the underside of the branch and added the two extra leaves.
  • Finally I used Glue Dots to place the five bees I'd assembled in various spots on the card front.

I love those clear little wings!  Come back next week to see what I do with butterflies!  And follow the blog every day for inspiration from members of the Design Team and suggestions for how to use the materials from the 2024 Fuchsia Collection.

Happy Crafting!
