I'm teaching a card class later this week with seniors in town who have asked for some simply stamped cards. So we will be making a series of black and white cards that they can later color with the medium of their choice or embellish in some way if they choose to do so. I actually quite like them in just black and white. Below are two of them.
These are the materials I used:
- A2 white horizontal note cards, one with the fold on the side and the other with the fold at the top
- white card stock
- black card stock
- BREEZY BOUQUET CLEAR STAMP SET CL5277
- tiny black bows from my ribbons box
- VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) ink and clear acrylic stamping blocks
to make these cards, let's look at the "wishing you a speedy recovery" card first
- stamp the large floral image several times on white card stock
- stamp the sentiments "wishing you" and "a speedy recovery" from that clear stamp set several times on white card stock
- trim the floral image to your desired size; I cut it 3 3/4 X 5 and mounted it on black card stock cut 4 X 5 1/4
- trim the sentiment down and mount it on a scrap of black card stock and trim that for a narrow border
- adhere the floral panel to the note card, fold at the top
- add the sentiment panel
- add a black bow
You will pretty much do the same thing for the "thank you for being a friend" card. Here I used the horizontal card with the fold at the side. I used a smaller part of the floral image with a wider black border for the focal panel and the sentiment panel was more square.
Easy peasy! We'll be able to make quite a few of these in no time!
