Hello Butterfly Card
by Donna Sledzik

Hi everyone!  For today’s card I created a bit of a mixed media background using the new Hello Butterfly stamp set.

I began by die cutting a piece of watercolor paper using one of the Wrapped Stitch Rectangle Dies.  Next I inked the butterfly stamp with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink, misted it with plain water and stamped it on the watercolor paper.  I repeated this process to cover the background with the butterflies.  I inked the small solid butterfly with Peeled Paint Distress ink, misted it with plain water and stamped it several times.  I dried the paper and then spattered the background with gold and Mermaid Lagoon inks.  I dried the paper again and added Gathered Twigs distress ink to the edges of the paper.

I stamped the butterfly onto watercolor paper using embossing ink, gold heat embossed the image and used the coordinating die to cut out the image.  I used distress inks to color in the butterfly.

I put a thin strip of foam tape down the center of the butterfly and adhered it to the prepared card panel.

I die cut the leaves from gold foil paper and tucked them in underneath the butterfly and glued them in place.

The word Hello was stamped onto watercolor paper, gold heat embossed, die cut with the coordinating die and glued to the card front.

I glued the card front to a white cardstock mat and adhered it to a Aqua card base.

To finish the card, I added some gemstones to add a little shine.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!
