With Sympathy Flowers on Repeat
by Samantha Pfrimmer

Hello everyone! Samantha here on the Memory Box blog and today I am sharing a pretty floral card using the With Sympathy Clear Stamp Set.

Background:

For this card I decided to make a background using the flower stamp from the set.  I carefully laid out my stamp in my stamping platform and repeated the image 3 times, rotating the stamp to fill the page as shown above. Next, I decided to ink-blend the background before coloring in the image, so I stamped three flower images onto double-sided masking paper, and fussy-cut my masks.  After applying my masks, I ink-blended the background using Altenew’s Aloe Vera and Matcha colored Fresh Die Inks showing the lighter color towards the inside of the card and the slightly darker green around the edges.

Flowers:

After removing my masks I got to work coloring all of the flowers using Copic markers. The blends I used are as follows moving from the darkest to lightest shade:

  • Leaves: YG67, YG17, YG03, YG001
  • Petals: V09, V06, RV66, RV63
  • Flower Stamen: Y26, Y11, Y00

Final Assembly:

Once my card panel was complete, I cut it down to 4” x 5.25” using a paper trimmer and matted it with a black A2 card panel before adhering it to a white folding A2 card-base.   Next, I die cut a Cheery Hello sentiment from white glitter cardstock along with an extra sentiment from scrap paper to stack up for dimension.  I glued my stacked sentiment onto a shadow cut from black cardstock, attached it to my card as shown, and finished with a few lavender sequins.
