From Garden Pail to Woodgrain Flowerpot
by Jean Okimoto

A quick trim transforms the pail from the Garden Pail Bouquet set into a compact woodgrain-textured flowerpot of mixed summer blossoms.  Hope you’re having a great weekend – Jean here sharing a floral thank you card from our Cheerful Countryside release.

The Blush 6×6 cardstock set features 3 each of 10 colors ranging from a soft peach to deep reds.  Cut the dark terracotta-colored sheet with the Garden Pail die.  Trim it to about 1-3/4″ high at the center with the top edge of the die.  Cut the 2 decorative band strips.

Spritz both sides of the pail with a light mist of water, then place the diecut the large vertical rectangle on the Vintage Tray 3D Embossing Folder.  Pressure-emboss it using the plate(s) required for your machine.  Attach the decorative strips.  The garden pail is now a flowerpot!

You can also cut it about 3/4″ tall and create a rustic planter for herbs or summer annuals.

Cut the flowers from 3 shades of the Blush 6×6’s.  Cut three sets of the centers from Black Glossy Paper (cardstock).  Cut 3 sets of the leaves and stems from 2 shades of green in the Greenery 6×6 set.

Cut the 2.8″ wide Heritage Rectangle Frame from white cardstock.  Temporarily attach the bottom half of the pail/flowerpot to the rectangle with removable tape – place the bottom edge of the pot about 1/4″ below the edge of the rectangle.

Arrange and attach the blossoms, buds and foliage to the rectangle.  Re-attach the pot with foam tape.  Attach everything  to a white A6 card (4-1/2″ x 6-1/4″).

Add a Thank You Foil Greeting Black Circle Tab, a bud and a stem.  Add 3 pale taupe/pink Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut an A6-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Thanks for visiting – enjoy your weekend!
