Greetings friends, and happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a card inspired by the Simon Says Stamp monthly Instagram challenge. The theme for May is “Bright and Colorful.” I love vibrant colors, so that is my kind of challenge!
To make this card, I started with some Memory Box white woodgrain paper. Here is a close up of the paper so that you can see the ridges of the woodgrain:

I then sprayed the white cardstock with lime, sky and teal chroma sprays from Stamp Zia. Stamp Zia is no longer in business, but any water based sprays would work. There are many vibrant colors of Distress sprays that would work well.
I sprayed the paper with the three colors and let the colors blend really well before drying. I then decided to add a bit of splotchyness to the paper, so I sprayed the papers again with the same colors. This time though, I slowly sprayed so that instead of a fine mist, the ink dribbled onto the paper and left splotches. I then let the paper dry completely.
For my butterfly, I stamped the image onto smooth watercolor paper with black Versafine ink. I then colored the wings with Zig Clean Color Brush markers. I think they have a nice selection of vibrant pens.
I cut the leaves out of green cardstock and then sponged them with a bit of green and teal Distress Ink. I did the same with the wood planks using brown cardstock and brown Distress Ink.
To finish the card, I layered everything and added my sentiment tab. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
