Get Well Soon

Today I decided to take a little break from Christmas cards and wanted to share a get well card I made for a friend recently.

I stamped the beautiful iris from the new Sentimental Iris stamp set and colored it with Copic Markers. I die cut it with the coordinating die set.

To create the background of my card I used the new Distress Oxide inks in the colors Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers. I pressed one of the colors onto my craft mat and sprayed the ink with water a few times. Then I pressed my water color paper into the ink, keeping it to one side of my paper. Then I dried the first layer with a heat tool and started the process again with the second color. I repeated the inking and drying process with the two colors until I got a background that I liked.

I stamped the get well soon from the same stamp set and then put the card together. To finish it off I created some dots with Wendy Vecchi’s enamel accents.
