Add extra texture to Halloween treat wrappers with new dies and 3D embossing folders from the 2021 Holiday Collection. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with ideas for the 31st – and a reason to buy more candy.
Cut pale gray and orange cardstock into 2-¾” x 8″ strips – 3 of each color. Score and fold each strip at 4″. Place the straight bottom edge of the 2-½” wide Nested Globes die slightly below the fold and cut the folded cardstock. Cut black and orange paper liners for the Confetti folders following the same directions. We’ll emboss and diecut the folded wrappers.
Cut folded gray wrappers with the Slim Confetti Plate and Pinpoint Daisy Background. Emboss one wrapper with the Stunning Mandala 3D Embossing Folder.
Cut Jack O Lantern Bucket and Poppystamps Smiling Jack O Lantern from bright and dark orange 6×6 sheets in the Sunny Orange Pack. Cut the Jack O Lantern background and handle from black cardstock. Assemble the bucket and attach it to the Stunning Mandala wrapper.
Cut black cardstock with the 1-½” Circle Basics die and attach it behind the Smiling Jack O Lantern. Attach it to the Pinpoint Daisy wrapper. Cut small black bats with the die from the Haunted Entrance Dome Layer set. Cut a large bat with the Cave Bat die. Cut the white Frosted Glitter Pad sheet with the 1-½” Circle Basics die. Attach the orange liner behind the gray wrapper.
Cut a folded orange wrapper with the Pinpoint Daisy Background die. Cut the bats using the Haunted Dome Entrance and Cave Bat dies. Cut White Woodgrain Paper with the smallest Nested Globes die. Punch eyes and a mouth with a screwpunch, attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the face. Cut a curved bottom edge – and it’s a ghost!
Attach the black liner behind the orange Confetti wrapper. Cut and punch the ghosts from the white 6×6 in the Frosted Glitter Pad.
Emboss a folded orange wrapper with the Geometric Crystals 3D Embossing Folder. It’s great that the 3D Embossing Folders have different designs on the back and front – we’re using the reverse side here. Cut Jack O Lantern Bucket from the orange sheet in the Glitzy Glitter Pad. Cut a black handle and solid semicircle to attach behind the face.
Punch the wrappers at the top. Attach Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares with doublestick tape. Tie them with an orange cord.
Treat wrappers add to the fun of Halloween – and these designs can also be used to make pennants for your window or mantle. Or adapt them to create quick little cards or tags.
