Celebrate the future and adventures awaiting someone moving up in life with a nautical slimline design. The new Curling Waves 3D Embossing Folder and Cutting Dies create a backdrop for the Grand Spiral Shell. Hi, Jean Okimoto sharing an idea for July’s Waving Hello Challenge of water-themed cards.
Diecut, VersaMark-ed and embossed cardstock creates swirly waves for summer designs. Cut a sheet from the Stormy Blue Collection with the Curling Waves die – leave the diecuts in the die. Use Full-Stick Post-It Notes on the reverse side to keep the diecuts intact. Use the dies as stencils – daub or sponge VersaMark onto the diecuts. Heat-emboss them with detail clear powder. (photo shows what’s left after the diecuts are heat-embossed, cooled and removed)
Place the heat-embossed diecuts in the Curling Waves 3D Embossing Folder and pressure-emboss them to add dimension to your design.
Cut white cardstock with the 2-½” x 7-½” Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.
Stamp the greeting – from the You Anchor Clear Stamps and Die Set – on white cardstock with Paradise VersaFine Clair. Dry the ink, then trim the greeting with the 1.1″ x 6.1″ Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.
Watercolor or blend blue inks on heavy white cardstock. I used the inks from the Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor multi-color inkpad. Cut it with the Grand Spiral Shell background.
Cut the detailed Grand Spiral Shell from the white 6×6 in the Polished Foil Pad. Assemble the shell.
Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-⅝” x 8-½”). For contrast – I attached one of the small wave diecuts showing the reverse side – it’s layered over a larger die, below the center of the greeting. Add Fairy Drops. Cut a slimline-size piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.
