Have a Fan-tastic Birthday
by Jean Okimoto

Trim a Round Eyelet Circle Frame, wrap it in gold cord and it’s a fan for a birthday card! There are so many ways to use the Round Eyelet Circle Frames – here’s another idea.

Prep the second-largest Round Eyelet Circle Frame by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the little oval offcuts. Cut it from Cherry Red Cardstock. Cut it in half and trim it to 9 ovals. Each circle makes two fans. Cut a semicircle at the bottom with the 1/2″ Circle Basics die.

Use a slightly smaller Circle Basics die to cut a piece of Glossy Black Paper (it’s cardstock) to attach behind the ovals. Tape gold cord securely on the reverse side of the fan and wrap gold cord between the scallops.

Cut Cherry Red Cardstock with the 2-3/4″ Circle Basics die. Cut the center – slightly offset – with the 2-1/2″ Circle Basics die.

Pressure-emboss Glossy Black Cardstock with the Bubble Dots Plate using the rubber mat and plate(s) required for your machine. Cut a 3/4″ x 3-1/4″ strip of the embossed cardstock. Cut a 3/4″ x 3-3/4″ strip of matte gold cardstock.

Cut the blossoms from the Poppystamps Handpicked Bouquet set from Cherry Red Cardstock and Glossy Black Paper. Layer them so the black appears in the center.

Attach the diecuts and strips to a side-folded light Kraft A2 card – use foam tape for the fan. Add a Happy Birthday Foil Greeting Black Tab. Cut an A2-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The Thank You and Congratulations tabs – in black+gold or white+gold – can be used here too. Make some extra cards while your supplies are out – add the greetings later, and your card is done!
