The new Festive Fawn – and a trio of Layered Birds – are ready to welcome fall. Ink-blended Wild Leaves, the new Tree Stump and Gathered Tree Trunks create a woodsy backdrop, all on a Heritage Rectangle Frame background.
Cut the second-largest Heritage Rectangle Frame from cream cardstock. Attach it to a top-folded 5.5″ square card. Cut a tall Gathered Tree Trunk and one of the shorter trunks from light kraft cardstock.
Cut Tree Stump from dark brown and kraft cardstock. Cut some of the Wild Leaves from ink-blended watercolor paper. Cut another large leaf.
Cut Layered Birds from turquoise and teal Lagoon Solid Core Cardstock 6×6’s. Color the beaks with a brown marker.
Cut Festive Fawn from dark kraft cardstock. Color the face under-layer with black and brown markers. Color the antlers, tail, hooves and ear edges with brown and dark brown markers. Appreciate how the right hind leg and tail are designed to add dimension with just one piece! Cut the two scarf sections from scraps of the ink-blended watercolor paper.
Attach the diecuts to the background – tuck the bottom of the shorter tree trunk under the stump. Save some leaves for the inside of the card.
Cover a scrap of cream cardstock with ScorTape and cut the solid Happy Fall Stylish Script background. Cut the detailed overlay from a yellow/orange Sunrise Solid Core Cardstock 6×6 – leave it in the die and remove the tiny pieces in the a’s, p’s, f and l’s. Press the greeting (still in the die) firmly onto the adhesive-covered background. Remove the die, sprinkle the remaining exposed adhesive with detail clear powder and heat-emboss it to adhere the layers. Let it cool – brush it with the embossing powder tool if it feels a little tacky. Attach it inside the card and add some leaves.
Cut a 5.5″ square of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing. Square cards require special handling and additional postage – hope you’ll agree that Festive Fawn deserves the extras!
