Hi everyone. I hope that you all have been enjoying the blog blitz so far. All of the designers this week will be featuring one of the latest What's in the Box stamps…except for me. I always seem to have to be a little bit different.
Today I wanted to show you how to use Design Adhesives by Clearsnap. Did you know that Dave Brethauer has designed a Memory Box collection of Design Adhesives? There are seven new themes that were released with the What's in the Box papers and stamps. In case you aren't familiar with Design Adhesives, I made a video featuring tips and techniques for working with this fun product. The video also gives you a chance to see what the new adhesives look like. If you would prefer to watch a larger version of the video, you can watch it directly on youtube here. The projects in the video go by rather quickly, so I will be posing some stills of the projects on my Color Whimsy blog this week.
Want a chance to win a Halloween pack and a Christmas pack of Design Adhesives? Simply leave me a comment telling me how you would use Design Adhesives. Would you make cards? Gifts? You have until 9pm PST Wednesday (7/7) to enter. Good luck!
Be sure to check back later today to see the card Angela made. You will also have another chance to win more stuff!

Fantastic video! Your cards are beautiful! So glad you shared the different ideas and techniques.
This was great! Connie
Very good video. I would have never given the design adhesives a second look but now I will check them out in my local stamp store. thank you, stamping sue
Thanks for sharing! Do you know if the adhesive sticks to candles?
I loved the snowflake and butterfly card and am glad to know that the glitter will not come off.
Great video!!! I think this will help folks to consider using the Design Adhesives for a variety of projects. I can’t wait to use them for my class next Monday!!!
This was amazing! I purchased some design adhesives on Saturday and was thinking about gold leafing and was thrilled to see how beautifully it worked on your card! Today I will make cards using that technique and experiment with some embossing as well. Thank-you for inspiring me!
I love design adhesives for quick little CAS cards! They are so pretty with glitter you don’t need much else!
I have also been wanting to try them on a glass vase or candle holder!
Wow! I’ve been waiting for this product and didn’t even know it! I’d use it to make cards primarily but you’re non-card projects are intriguing. Thanks for the post – Nimmy
I would stick them on my dog, Jake, and add HOT PINK flocking – he’s very secure and would love FANTASTIC flocked in pink!
Thanks for the great video! I haven’t used adhesives and now know how to. Can’t wait to get some and start using them.
…. and on a serious note … that was one FANTASTIC video! You are great at this!
Wow, I really appreciate that video. The items you made are gorgeous and I am going to be buying a lot of the design adhesives, I can tell. Will they be available in stamp stores that sell Memory Box stamps? As addicted to cardmaking as I am, it was awesome to see a couple of other items done. The votives would make a great gift and I think I’ll be making some of them.!!! Thanks!!
Yeah Laura! That was a great video and yes you have inspired me!
Ooops, I didn’t really answer the question in your blog well with my first comment, so I thought I needed to add: yes, I would definitely use these on cards. I think especially holiday themed fall and xmas cards with glitter or embossing would be where I’d use them the most, as well as wedding ones. I also am intrigued by the non-card ideas you started me thinking about. How about photo frames? Wedding, vintage, hoiday, etc. or pet themed (are there pet design adhesives?) or floral would also be so pretty. The votives or a small vase in colors to match someone’s decor, holders in the bathroom for q-tips, cotton balls, etc., added to gift wrap, gift bags, the tissue or to decorate a gift tag (especially if you match it to a card) salt and pepper shakers or small canisters or spice jars in the kitchen, place holders for guests at holidays, xmas ornaments or added to other holiday decor for a little extra glitz, even framed art for the wall-yikes, I’d better stop. These have absolutely endless possibilities! I’m really excited about this product! I answered the question now!!
I would definetely use the adhesives to create cards, cards, cards!
Wow, these look like lots of fun to play with; I would have a blast trying the Design Adhesives on actetate (something different for me)
I would most definitely use the Design Adhesives for card making and would especially like to work more with acetate….wonderful video tutorial : )
Laura,
You made a wonderful video! Thank you for the tips on working with acetate and getting rid of the extra glitter/material. I loved your ideas to use gold flakes and combining materials.
I have made candle holders as gifts for Christmas but I love the idea of using design adhesives to make spooky candle holders for Halloween! I will be making a scrapbook for my Mom for Christmas this year, featuring an old plantation house she helped to decorate for Christmas with tours by candlelight, and the Christmas design adhesives would definitely add unique character. What else…I guess you could also make Christmas tree ornaments, using either large bells or glass balls to add the adhesives to…I am going to have a baby’s first Christmas gift coming up also, maybe I could decorate the picture frame…
Thank you again for sharing the video.
Loved the video. I haven’t seen the design adhesives before. I loved them with the glitter and the gold leaf. I would make cards with them.
OMGosh! These are wonderful!
I have not seen these before, or if I have didn’t understand what they were!
Your video was wonderful and so informative, Thank you for taking the time to do it!
I love the glittler border you did for the butterfly card and would love to try this! and decorating those votive holders as well, those would make a lovely hostess or thank you gift for someone.
Thank you so much for sharing this product with us!
I would definitely be making my Christmas cards if I won a pack of design adhesives! Thanks for the info.
Great video. Would use these on cards and scrap pages. Fast and easy. Thanks, Nancy P.
Nice new product! The possibilities are endless! I think I would try making Christmas ornaments (both clear glass and chipboard), Halloween treat bags, party invitations, and some jewelry. This product would be great to use on the large wooden bangle bracelets!
The Design Adhesives are exciting. I would definitely be using them in my cardmaking.
Thanks for the informative video! It looks like the Design Adhesives work great with powdered mediums, which I love to use but don’t always have much success with. I would definitely use these on cards!
I love this product. I have a set with butterflies that I glitter on cards all the time. Love your techniques as well, I will be trying the acetate soon. Thanks for sharing.
Christy
I’ve seen Jean use this many times and it’s always beautiful. Depending on the design I’d probably make cards or decorate votives with them. I just have to take the plunge and try them!
those are really cool – I would use them on cards . . . for sure!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Sandra
wow, i haven’t seen the design adhesive until now. really, really cool!
This was a fabulous idea! I’ve never used design adhesives or gold flake before and now I can’t wait to get some flakes and the brocade to add an extra punch to cards. I’d like to try them with some flocking powder too for snowmen and mittens. I might combine the poinsettia with the brocades for a Victorian card look. Thanks for a truly inspirational video!
I like the Winter Wonderland design adhesives. I might make a row of trees and add some green or white (or a combination) of Flower Soft and experiment with that. I never would have considered trying that until this video which showed a fancy-looking technique look easy.
Excellent video & it’s always fun to have a new product to play with! Thanks for the tute!
I didn’t know about this product and I’m excited to try it! I’d use it on cards for starts and then go from there!
Great product! Loved the video and all the projects you made. I would use the Design Adhesives for holiday decor, gifts and cards. my brain is in creative overdrive!
Great Video!
What a great idea for quick and easy cards…thanks for sharing.
This was very informative! I like to find new ways to use my material. I would use this for cards and for my scrapbook pages. I’d also like to use this to make my mini books.
Thanks for sharing!
I’m a cardmaker so I would definitely use this for cards – I wish I had heard of the hop sooner, you gals are featuring FABULOUS products and projects!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen these before. I would definitely use them on cards and probably with glitter! Great chance for some fancy sparkle!! I’ll have to tell my daughter-in-law about these. She will love them.
Just love what you have done with the design adhesives!! I have never seen them used before but sure want to give them a try!! I would like to start out making some nice votive holders for the holidays…it would be great to have one at each place setting. I could see using them in my many scrapbooks, too! I am also planning on adding to candy jars, etc. for our church bazaar!! Too many ideas and no where near enough time to try them all!!
Fabulous video and projects. I had never heard of Design Adhesives, so now I’ll have to go find some. The possibilities seem endless!
Thanks so much!
I had not heard of Design Adhesives until I watched the video. I love the idea of using it with acetate and gold leaf. I may just have to pull the gold leaf out from my stash!
Thank you for the great video! Thank you for showing various ways to use them.I would love to know where these will be sold so that I can pick some of them up and use them on my cards.
Great video, clearly explained and showed how to use the Design adhesives. I would primarly use these on cards, like the idea of the acetate and gold leaf. I would also use them on projects, small stocking stuffer Christmas gifts. Cannot wait to purchase some to play around with
Great product! Since I am now hosting the annual Thanksgiving dinner at my home (mom gets to relax and watch us bump into each other in the kitchen), I try to make the placecards, napkin holders and menu to match. I also send out cards to friends who can’t be there. The adhesive will make it easier to match everything.
Wow! This was new to me….and I love the possibilities. The gold leafing on acetate is exactly what I need for a 50th Anniversary card. I’d use these mostly for cards.
