Watercolor with Distress Inks and Memory Box Stamps

Materials Used:
  • Violet Notecard, Memory Box
  • Wildbloom Viola paper, Memory Box
  • Violet Gingham paper, Memory Box
  • Neenah White Cardstock
  • scrap of cold press watercolor paper
  • G1857 Chrysanthemum Frame stamp, Memory Box
  • Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Mowed Lawn
  • 3 purple gems
I inked up the stamp with Seedless Preserves and Mowed Lawn inks and stamped it on the watercolor paper. Because Distress Inks are reactive with water, I used a watercolor technique using a tiny brush and water to pull the ink colors from the stamped outline into the empty spaces.  I then smooshed the four ink pads onto separate areas of my craft sheet and used a wet brush to pick up additional color which I added to create the final watercolored image.  This is a great technique to use with any of the Memory Box floral stamps.  The effect looks like an original watercolor!  When I am ready to send this card, all I need to do is stamp an appropriate sentiment onto the watercolored tag with an Archival ink.
Happy Crafting!
