Glittered Snowflake Ornament
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends.  I felt the need for a little sparkle today, so I made a card that was a combination of both loose glitter and glittered paper.

To make the card, I started with some white cardstock, added some strong double sided tape on top (from Elizabeth Crafts) and then cut out a circle using a metal die:

Next, I cut out a Holiday Heart Snowflake using white cardstock and stuck it down onto the exposed double sided tape.  The white snowflake was just there as a guide for coloring.  I later glued another snowflake on top of it.

I had a lot of exposed double stick tape that wasn't covered with a snowflake die, so I sprinkled the whole thing with some microfine glitter:

Next, I dabbed Copic markers on top of the glitter to color the hearts.  The Copic nibs aren't hurt by the microfine glitter, but you want to make sure that you dab the marker onto the piece rather than rub it over the surface:

The Copic marker bled onto the white snowflake guide, so I cut out another snowflake from silver glitter paper and glued it on top of the white snowflake.  I was left with a bunch of cut out silver glitter hearts that I am hoping not to lose before I start making Valentines day cards.

Here is a closeup of the glitter:

To finish the card, I added some layers of blue glitter paper, added a white ribbon and bow and finished off everything with a glitter rhinestone in the center.

Thanks for stopping by today!
