Happy Accidents
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Today I want to talk about having happy creative accidents when you are making a card.

I knew when I started this card, I wanted to give my little mouse a sparkly jacket using paper from the Majestic Hues Glitter Pack. I have a friend that loves Liberace and old Vegas, so I had her in mind for this glitzy card.

One thing I didn’t realize is that if you use the new Pinpoint Flower Plate for decorative interest and then place glitter paper behind it, you get this amazing sparkly effect in the places where the glitter shines through the pinpoint holes.

It was really hard to capture the sparkle, but here is a close up:

When you shift the card in the light, it looks fantastic. Another bonus is that the Memory Box glitter paper doesn’t shed glitter, so you don’t end up with glitter all over the place.

To make the mouse, I cut him out using cream cardstock and colored the pieces with Copic markers. I’m thinking I should have cut his pants out using a different color because the black pants blend with the background.

If you look at the closeup, you can see the design of the PinPoint Flower Plate.

I added a balloon using the same glitter paper as the jacket and added some neutral twine for the balloon string. To finish the look, I added my birthday tag.

Aren’t happy accidents fantastic?

Have a wonderful weekend!
