Here’s another Christmas in July card from me, this time featuring the HEIRLOOM CANDLESTICK HOLDER 94974. The candlestick and candle sit against a layered background of FAN STITCH SCALLOPED ARCH FRAMES 94967 with some greenery tucked in from the EVERGREEN HOLLY BUNDLE 94988. All of those elements are placed on a plaid from PP1019 CHRISTMAS JOLLY 6X6 paper.
To make this card I began with a blank white A2 note card and added the plaid paper cut 5 1/4 X 4 to the front. Then I did all of the die cutting–the largest arch and the greens from a GREENERY SP1011 card stock; a smaller arch from a scrap of WHITE WOODGRAIN paper SH44001; the candlestick from a scrap of gold mirror card; the candle from a scrap of CHERRY RED paper SH44015; and the flame from a scrap of watercolor paper that I then colored with orange and yellow watercolors. (Yes, I have a scrap bin for when I only need a small piece of something for use with a small die.)

I placed the larger green scalloped frame flush against the plaid paper. I added the greenery to the back upper left of the white scalloped frame and placed this flat against the green frame (even though the corner with the greenery bumps out a tiny bit). I then used dimensional foam dots behind the candle and candlestick to pop this completed image onto the card.
This design would work with any number of color combinations with a coordinating plaid or print background paper. I’m thinking it would be fun to create cards for friends that reflect the color schemes of their living spaces in the materials I choose. Maybe the candle image is one I could then use all year round.
Do take a look at the Memory Box website and check out both the catalog and the idea book there. And keep checking the blog this month for more holiday inspiration from the design team!
