Simple Dahlia
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Happy weekend! Today I am sharing a simple card using the new Dahlia Stems stencil. Although the stencil has three dahlias on it, that doesn’t mean you need to use all of them on your card. I selected the largest one to highlight on my card.

To make the card, I started with a light pink color sponged onto the open part of the flower stencil:

Next, I added a darker pink ink to add the details of the flower:

Don’t forget the stem in a green ink:

The nice part about using part of the stencil is that it makes for a quick and easy card to make and send.

Here is a close up of the layers:

To finish the card, I added a scalloped frame and a happy birthday tag with twine.

I don’t know if you know this or not, but the post office currently has a set of dahlia stamps for sale. Why not match your envelope with your stencil?

Have a great weekend.
